Lawrence Laureano

Piano & Voice

Lawrence Laureano is currently serving in the United States Air Force as a main vocalist for the Heartland of America Band in Offutt Air Force Base. He sings with the Raptor ensemble which performs a broad style of music. Prior to his service, Lawrence completed his Master’s in Choral Conducting in 2023 at Utah State University.  During his graduate studies he worked with the legendary Lt. Col. Craig Jessop, the former conductor of the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.  During his time at Utah State University he worked with the American Festival Chorus, Utah State Chamber Singers, University Chorale, Treble Choir, as a director and a collaborative pianist.  He was instrumental in creating a multicultural environment and bringing a sense of diversity and inclusion in his repertoire selections, conducting methods, and collaborative engagements.  While a student in the master’s degree program, he was able to premiere several new works and his performances received standing ovations with audiences filled to capacity. 

Lawrence earned his Bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University Hawaii, where he majored in vocal performance and piano. During his time in Hawaii, he directed the BYU-Hawaii University Chorale for three years. He was the founding director of Our Voice, a vocal ensemble that performed for a wide range of audiences all over the island of O’ahu. 

During his time in Hawaii, he was a sought-after vocalist and musician, performing with many diverse ensembles, representing a wide range of styles and genres. Just a few of these ensembles include Broadway Review, Salsa Orchestra, Shaka Steel Drum Band, and Musicals.  Another area of interest for Laureano has been in the area of Broadway musical direction where he has worked as vocal coach, choreographer, performer, and musical director in Hawaii and Utah.  Recent shows that he has worked on include: Solana, Gingerbread, West Side Story, Freaky Friday, 9-5, and Lyric Theatre spotlight concerts.  

In addition to his musical activities, Lawrence enjoys time with nature and is passionate about reading literature related to self-discovery and inner healing which in turn influence his musical compositions and expression.
