Christian Schuerman


Christian Schuerman graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor’s in Music Education in 2019. During his collegiate career, he played double bass in a wide variety of ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Combos. As an electric bass player, he played with Jazz Combos, Big Red Singers, and played in the premier of “Lost and Found”, a musical written by Meredith Toebben and Maddie Stuart. In addition to playing bass, Christian has also played tuba with the Cornhusker Marching Band, Big Red Express Pep Band, and the Tuba/Euphonium ensemble.

Christian currently teaches elementary strings in Omaha Public Schools, teaching grades 4-6 at five different elementary schools. Christian also works with the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras as a rehearsal manager and sectional coach. In addition to teaching, Christian is also serving on the American String Teacher Association K-12 Committee and pursuing his Master’s in Music Education through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
