She has participated in a variety of performance opportunities. She had the honor of being nominated for the 2018 Irene Ryan- Kennedy Center Award for her role in her university’s production of “Footloose the Musical.” In addition to performing, Jaymie also has a deep love for songwriting and spends much of her time composing. She was the first place winner of the “‘Beautiful’ the Carole King Music Songwriting Competition” put on by Omaha Performing Arts in 2017.
Currently, Jaymie teaches K-6 vocal music in the Omaha Public Schools. She also co-directs a high school show choir in the Millard Public Schools. She believes in teaching students to love the process of creating music. She would love to help her students build a strong musical foundation and find their own individual voice. She is excited to teach piano lessons and voice lessons to students at Sing Omaha, and to share her passion for learning.
